Our History

The Michael P. Mulvey Memorial Scholarship was established by the Mulvey Foundation to assist Newton Community High School seniors with their higher education expenses, honoring Mike's commitment to education and love for Jasper County. Although Mike did not have the opportunity to graduate from college he valued education and insisted that his children excel in their higher learning opportunities.

Our Commitment

Mike cherished Jasper County and its people, spending nearly his entire life in Newton except for his years of military service to our country. Throughout his life, he embodied the values of hard work, educational achievement, and selfless community service. His passion for supporting his neighbors and making Newton a better place was evident in everything he did.
